Another "why I hate IF"

As you know, I got my period last week. It was brighter red than normal, and at the end, it was still pink spotting instead of brownish. I considered these to be improvements thanks to acupuncture.

This week (Monday, yesterday, and today), I have been so nauseous in the morning that I have literally had to put up an away message for work and lay down with saltines and club soda on the couch for a few minutes. I mean seriously, if I had tested positive on Christmas Eve, I would have expected to start feeling sick about now (6w), and here I am.

Except I didn't test positive, and I was using pads last week!!

But thanks to dang IF, here I lay, clutching my club soda, feeling like I'm going to throw up, and googling "period while pregnant". It's a sad state of affairs. (Dammit if there aren't people who do get their period while they are pregnant!!)

Mr. A thinks I should take a test. I'm pretty sure if it's positive, pigs will fly by my window and it will be a cold day in hell.

I haven't really changed any morning routine- I have been taking my royal jelly with a small amount of juice this week, but I had been doing that before.. I did take a break from that while my family was here, so maybe my body is just getting re-used to it? I am drinking a different kind of juice...

Wake me up when this is over!!

  1. Oh no! Nausea is the worst! Hope it's a sneaky pregnancy, and not the flu or something. Ugh. Hope you feel better!!! And if I were you, I'd test just in case... you never know. :)

  3. I have definitely gone through this before and I am sure will go through this again. I hate those faux pregnancy symptoms that have you convinced, even when AF is hanging around. BOO. IF sux. Hope you get feeling better.

  4. Ugh. So sorry. I would test just b/c I hate limbo and like to eliminate one cause so I can move on to the next. BUT I know it's heartbreaking to do so. I'm worried you could be coming down with something.

  5. I had the same thoughts when I had that migraine the other night and was extremely nauseous. Never mind that I'm in the middle of a migraine - there's still that voice that says "maybe, maybe you could be pregnant".
Testing couldn't hurt. I've taken more tests after cd1 than I have before. Not something I'm exactly advocating, but just letting you know you wouldn't be alone if you did :).

  7. I tend to become more manically hopeful (not more hopeful, just more manic, if that makes sense) after CD1 myself. Stop by your local dollar store if you feel like it...

Frankly, most of the HPTs I've taken in the last 2-3 years were prophylactic: in case I look back later with paranoid concern that I miscarried because I have some weirdo cycle, I will know that I tested negative, and that's that.

  8. Ugh...the mixed signals are complete torture. I'm with the girls who say test. It'll put you out of your misery...one way or the other! :)
