New blood

I have been taking some time in the evenings to check out the posts on the 2010 Creme de la Creme. There are 265 posts (and counting) from the ALI (adoption-loss-infertility) community, so there is something for everyone, and I want to look at every one, and goodness knows I can't do that in one day!

I have added some new blogs to my bloglist to the right (those still waiting for babies and even a couple of pregnant/mom ones!), and I'm glad to have some new blood around here. So many of my bloggy buddies have achieved pregnancy and/or motherhood in 2010, that I was beginning to think that soon it would just be me, with everyone else in the Baby Bump or Parents of Blessings section!!! So I found some new people who are still waiting to expand their family. Whew! And, if you start reading/following here, welcome!!

And speaking of new, today is the last day of Delurking Week!! I know, I'm late on officially welcoming all my lurkers. According to the stats tab in my Dashboard, I had over 400 hits yesterday, and only 16 of you said hi!!

So, if you are a lurker, say hello! I'd love to hear from you, and visit your blog if you have one :) This community is all about support, and what better way to increase the circle by letting me know you're here and letting me say hi to you as well!

Back to reading a few more of the creme posts! If you are looking for some new blogs to follow, head over to the list (link above)- you will find some great new friends!

  1. Awesome! Is that how you meet people online? Haha. I have NO CLUE what I'm doing. I just get on and gripe. :)

  2. That is a good idea, but I get so overwhelmed looking at the creme de la creme list! It's how I first started following blogs, though - I found that list and then started finding bloggers I loved! And then started mine.

I have been working on adding the "new blood" myself - I realized I had a few followers I didn't know about recently, and I still have to track everyone back and add them. And figure out which ones go in the "waiting" category! Fortunately (I think), my 2011 goals have me switching to being a "post-IF" blogger by the end of the year, so I may be switching my blogroll, format, and focus by then, which would really be a relief. I never planned my blog to be a multi-year exercise in spectatorship of the "support" community's departure to the "baby pictures and diapering debates" community, and I think I need a long term plan that gives my blog an identity other than that one.

  5. I know what you mean about everyone having or adopting their babies. Many of my friends had babies last year too. While I'm thrilled for them, it's also nice to read people who are still waiting. Although I wish none of us were in that category.

  6. Just a lurker saying hello here! I'm still in the thick of things with you, feeling like everyone else has moved on. Thanks for sharing your experience and your life. It helps so much knowing that someone else can relate and that I'm not alone!

  7. Hello,
I'm most definately a lurker. First it was because I hadn't talked about IF on my blog and I didn't want people to work it out so I wasn't following or commenting on any blogs, then I started an IF blog but wasn't sure I wanted people to read it!
But I appreciate your blog so much, your honesty about your struggle and pray for you every time you post.
I know in my non on-line life- it feels like we are the last ones left. We had a misscarriage and our baby was suppose to be born in July. I found out another couple who had been trying for a long time just got to 12 weeks and are due in July. It's such a strange mix of being so happy for them but wondering why our baby had to be the one to die. And imagining what might have been if we could have joined them with happy news.
    Anyway- thanks for your blog,
    Belinda

  8. I just reorganized my blogroll myself (in reader). I haven't updated the one on my blog in forever...should really do that, I think.
It feels weird to be on the cusp of "achieving motherhood". I feel like I don't fit anywhere - I'm in limbo.
I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens and that will decide the future of my blog...
I'm glad you're finding some "new blood". Every once in a while, it helps to reach out and connect with new people. I heard once that infertiles were the worst support for other infertiles - because no one stays in the same place very long and someone is always getting left behind. I don't think that's the complete truth - I think infertiles are the best support for other infertiles, but not the same women - the group constantly changing as some move on. It won't be the same group of IF'ers from the beginning to the end, supporting each other, but I think that's okay, because no matter where we are in our journey or where we end up - there's another IF'er who will understand and be there to support us.
And that's the beauty of these online communities - if you're in need of more support you can go out and find it! It's lovely, isn't it?

  12. Hi there! I'm new to blogging but found yours through another blog and wanted to say hi. I'd love for you to follow mine. http://ourstorkgotlost.blogspot.com

  13. I'm not sure if I have ever posted a comment on your blog, but just in case, I thought I would comment now, so I am no longer a lurker. I have been following your blog for awhile. I started reading IF blogs while I was really struggling and found a lot of encouragement. I have since started blogging about my journey.
