Thank you all for your heartfelt comments on my last post. Just to clarify, those are the meds for the ENTIRE cycle! No antibiotics, no steriods, no estrogen! (My nurse says that they use some of those things for people over 40...)
And when I called her this morning to say that I've been doing some reading, she said that I should definitely talk about those concerns (lowish estrogen/response) with my RE next Thursday at my u/s. I know that we don't want a billion follicles, but I am going to be extremely nervous if we only have 3, like last IUI cycle. She just told me not to believe everything I read on the internet (HA!), and reminded me that my RE has been doing this for a very long time.
Overall, I am feeling much better about this than I was yesterday. I definitely have confidence in my RE and his ability to distill fact from fad...
....and above all, I have to keep reminding myself that if this is how God is going to bless us with children, He will bring everything into order as it needs to be.
Luckily, today's exciting news is that I have my first acupuncture appointment!! We decided that although it's out of pocket, we're spending $10k on this cycle, what is another $500? :) I hope I like it!! At least I think it will help me relax, which is the key to having kids, right?

I'm glad you called your RE/nurse. It's always good to make sure you really understand what they're doing and why. Sometimes I could feel my RE getting annoyed with me but I just reminded myself that I was just doing my motherly duty to make sure all the bases were covered.
The Internet can be a big help, but it really is hard to separate out all the specific informatio that's relevant for you. Like you said, your RE's been doing this for awhile. I would definitely bring up your concerns to him at your next appointment so you can get his take on the matter. Maybe he'll agree with you and decide to alter the protocal somewhat. Or maybe he'll be able to explain to your satisfaction why he won't.
Enjoy the acupuncture today! I am excited to hear how it goes.
I'm glad you called and you're feeling better about the protocol. And enjoy acupuncture tonight! It is relaxing :-) I'm going tonight too!
Enjoy your acupuncture appointment. Use that time to let your body relax. Good Luck, I hope you like it!!
So glad you called and spoke to your nurse. Definitely write down your concerns and questions and bring them to ask the doctor. And that's so exciting about acupuncture! Let me know how you like it. I keep telling myself I'm going to try it one of these days.
I am really glad you talked to the nurse! Have fun at accupuncture today! You already know I am a big fan of it:). I hope it eases any anxiety you may have.
I'm late to chime in but I SO FEEL YOU ON THIS! My RE is super-duper conservative too. And although I think I am when it comes to medical stuff, most of the time I'm worried he's not doing enough. I think it's the nature of the beast, to always second-guess.
I'm glad you got some peace of mind with the nurse and that you'll get more answers at the u/s. I'm sure that will help.
Cheers to attempting to just trust in our docs. They want us to get pregnant, I believe my doc is doing what's best for me. And yours is doing what's best for YOU! :)
hahaha yes relaxing is the key... they say...
Hope you have a good accupuncture appt and I'm also glad you called, though its better to talk to the doctor. I'm glad you are feeling more positive also =)
You should never feel bad about calling and asking questions and making sure things are as they should be. I've heard stories of women that were given wrong instructions or dosages so it never hurts to double check. That, and it makes you feel better. Best of luck with your accupuncture! I hope it relaxes you right into a pregnancy. :-)
Glad you're feeling better and enjoy the acupuncture. It is so relaxing!
I hope you enjoyed your acupuncture appt! Good luck with this upcoming cycle :).
