June already?

Is it seriously June 3?

We're back from a fairly-impromptu trip to see my grandfather. He is doing better than I expected, but he is still visibly not the "normal". Luckily, the tube for his oxygen thing is pretty lengthy, so he can go have coffee on their back patio and move pretty much over their entire first floor. But sometimes, he looks simply weak and you just want to go hug him, you know?

And amazingly, the only person who mentioned our kid-less-ness while we were up there was my grandmother. (Did I know that her friend "in our same situation" adopted a little boy from Ireland and then went on to have 5 kids "of their own"???) I give her a pass because she is in the early stages of Alzh.eimer's....

And we are thoroughly enjoying not thinking about treatments. Can someone else call my RE for me and get his reflections on our failed IVF?? During our layover on the way home, Mr. A and I enjoyed a couple beers and a couple burgers and some great conversation. Of course I am secretly hoping for a miracle baby this time, but I don't even know what CD I'm on, and I plan on keeping it that way until as long as humanly possible. I think maybe I'd like to try clomid again, maybe 100mg instead of the 50mg I was on last summer, just for an extra boost.

It is weird to not pray so emphatically about our treatment stuff, but instead for other people, situations, and just our life in general. It is kind of refreshing, but a little unusual at this point. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

And finally, I am going to be upgrading my cell-phone soon!! I need you to tell me what you like and don't like about your phone. I am with veriz.on, so ip-hone's are out (bummer, Mr. A had one before he got his droi.d, and so the iph-one is just sitting in my desk drawer!) My biggest concern with the touchscreen ones is that I don't know if I will like typing on the touchscreen. But I know those are more fancy than the full-keyboard ones, which I just got to try out because my sister has one, but those are much nicer than the one I have now! Maybe this one is a good compromise? Not that I need fancy, or even a smar.tphone, really. But I am definitely tired of my current phone, which turns off at any old random time without even a "hey I'm turning off now", so I go to check it and realize it's been off for some unspecified amount of time!! Can't wait to hear your cell-phone reviews!!

I am so sorry about your grandpa. I know that look that makes you want to hug him all too well from when my grandparents were sick. I'm happy that you are enjoying your treatment-free time. Good luck with the phone search! I have an iPhone so I don't think I'd be much of a help.

I have a pretty basic phone. Nothing exciting!

I have a samsung solstice and I like it! It's a touchscreen, but it's not hard to type on it at all, and it's really easy to use overall. Battery life is good too, and it takes pretty great pictures for a low pixel camera (can upload instantly to snapfish, which is nice).
I'm glad you're enjoying taking a little break from thinking about treatments right now. Beers and burgers sounds good, and relaxing. Isn't it nice to just sit and enjoy our husband's company? Those are always my favorite evenings :).

I have ver.izon and I got a dr.oid in January.

It has the full keyboard pull out. I am so in love with it! I never had a touch screen one before and I like this one because I don't have to use my fat fingers to try and type on a touch screen keyboard lol.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa. That is nice that he's doing better than you expected though. Good job giving your grandma a pass on the baby comment. I'm glad you're enjoying a break. I love not counting my days when we're breaking. Such a relief.
I have AT & T so I'm looking for an iP.hone so I'm no help for you. I'd gladly buy the lonely one in your drawer though! Let me know.

Glad to hear that you're getting some good time off from TTC.

I'm also on verizon and I broke down and got the Palm Pre Plus. I love it. Granted it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the iPhone, but it's great for me. Plus, it was a lot cheaper!

I'm glad you're enjoying your break =). I'm bad with phones and I have sp.rint so I'm no help. Good luck though, new phones are fun! (until I break them...haha)

I'm sorry about your grandpa. And good job for giving your grandma a "pass". I think we all get those comments from relatives at one point or another.

Hey, glad your grandpa is ok and that you're enjoying this time of not knowing your CD! Ugh, you've been through so much.

And hey, I have your same cell phone carrier, although I've been wishing for an i.phone. I do like mine though, it's an env3 (although I'll upgrade to an i.phone if they ever get it!).

I'm glad you had a good visit with your grandpa, but sad to see him deteriorating so.

It is nice to have those moments with your DH when you're not feeling the need to focus so heavily on TTC and are able to just enjoy one another. So relaxing!

I, sadly, have no advice on phones. I'm on Verizon as well, but my phone is the plain old LG Chocolate. I'm actually getting ready to update mine as well, so....we'll see ;)

I'm so sorry about your grandpa. And I'm so glad you're enjoying the break month, sometimes stepping away just for a little can make a big difference!! Thinking of you. Oh, and I'm an iphone user so no help.

I changed phones in May and went with a touch screen. Several unsuccessful attempts at typing an email, much ensuing profanity, and 8 days later (within the exchange grace period) . . . I took it back to get one with a full keyboard. I’m TMobile so mine was the Motorola Cliq (DH's is HTC and we could not do Iphone because of our hate-hate relationship with AT&T). I love it, but really would have taken anything with a full keyboard at that point in time. I just can't do the touch screen.

It is wonderful to not think about treatments, isn't it? So freeing. Glad you're enjoying yourself. And best wishes for your grandfather.

I just got a new phone. A black.berry. Love. It.
