(Update from post this morning- see below)
Good (cool) news: Mr. A encouraged me to go to my yoga class and call the repair place on the way. (I was fretting, what if I called, and they said they could only come at 10:30? He said, don't worry about it, just tell them you won't be home till the afternoon. Love that he puts my sanity ahead of all the condiments that may or may not have to be replaced....) AND, it was a great yoga class. The other girl who is also 39 weeks (gah, still can't believe I'M 39 weeks!!) was also there, and we are hoping that we are cuddling our babies by this time next Tuesday morning. AND, after class, we went to this cupcake place and got cupcakes for a treat. So fun :) I am glad that I took Mr. A's advice and went to yoga because....
Bad (uncool) news: The earliest the fridge people can come out is tomorrow between 1-6pm!!! Wow. Definitely thankful we have our chest freezer, and definitely hoping it doesn't crap out, too. Trying to figure out how we can eat at home (without relying on takeout for every meal) because they said depending on the part required, it might be MONDAY before it is fixed. That's right. Like, the day before Maryanne is due. Oh well, trying to roll with the punches here!! (The cupcake that I got after yoga is helping....it is REALLY good!)
But overall, feeling WAY better today and not really annoyed at anything right now. It would be sort of hilarious (in retrospect, I'm sure) if she was born in the next few days and we had a houseful of company with no refrigeration capabilities.

If it happens and you have no fridge and lots of company... LET THEM TAKE CARE OF YOU!!!!! Do that anyway, but especially if there's no fridge. They can baby you for a while as you baby your baby. :) Good luck!
It would be a great story, and I'm sure your houseful of guests would love feeling useful and having to cook fresh meals and take care of you!!!
Cupcakes solve everything! That's what I've discovered. ;) I'm glad you are feeling better about it all. I commend you for hosting guests at all when Maryanne comes. You are a rock star! The only people staying in my house is hubby and I with our new baby. Anyone else can stop by for a little while, but out of town people need to stay some where else. I want peace and quiet. Haha Peace and quiet with a new baby, is that possible??? :) I bet you will benefit from all that help though... I may be changing my mind in a hurry once she's here! ;)
Yes, I agree, with a new baby the guest can cook for you :)
Wow, 39 weeks, that is so exciting. I'm excited that your precious Maryanne is almost out in the world, I think we all feel a certain attachment to her after praying for you for so long xx
I definitely think it's the visitors' job to take care of you. HOWEVER, I am also a planner and if I had made all of this food and the fridge stopped working at the worst possible time, I would be ENRAGED.
Last thought: lawn/garden services are the easiest of all things to hire out, right? Is there a neighborhood teenager with access to a chainsaw/hedge trimmer and a weedwhacker and lawnmower who could sink in a few hours? I bet that would give you enormous peace of mind.
Boy, what a time for your fridge to poop out! Happy to see that you're taking it all in stride, though. I hope your guests bring lots of food in the days to come and that you'll not leave leftovers until it gets fixed! :)
I'm so excited that you're this close to meeting your baby girl face-to-face! I know you've waited for that day to come... how special and sweet it will be! Thinking of you.
